Bronwen Williams works with sound and installation to explore the nuances of contemporary Asian-Australian identity.
Integrating spatial, sonic and active listening practices, Williams' new work In-audibility, In-visibility creates an embodied, multi-sensory experience. The visually and sonically dynamic environment engages light and transluency as mediums to explore the spectrum of visibility, while beat frequencies and masking sounds create an immersive audibility.
Synthesising sonic and visual materiality with their experiences of being Chinese-Australian, Williams' experiential installation seeks to reflect the fluid hybridity of cross-cultural identity.
