Drawing Invitational, exhibits various New York Artists from the Betha Urdang Gallery. The drawings in this exhibition are neither of one style, nor a comprehensive survey. They are drawings imbued with vitality and demonstrable quality. Some of them are already the stuff of history, others have been a discovery. They have, one and all, given me unalloyed pleasure and charged my enthusiasm for decades. The approaches to drawing by these artists are various: meditative, declaratory, emblematic, exploratory, obsessive. None are sketches for paintings or sculptures. Some of teh drawings reflect light, others life.
