Galleries Attendant (Casual)

The Galleries Attendant (Casual) plays a key role in the daily operations of UNSW Galleries and contributes to creating a positive and engaging visitor experience.

This front-of-house position supports the smooth running of the gallery by managing public access, assisting with opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a welcoming and informative environment. The role includes providing professional customer service, sharing exhibition insights, engaging visitors in conversation, and ensuring the safety and security of artworks and guests.

Galleries Attendants represent UNSW Galleries to the public, interacting with visitors in a warm, knowledgeable, and respectful manner. They also support invigilation during exhibition openings, public programs, and events, helping to maintain a safe and inclusive space for artists, staff, and the community.

UNSW Galleries is a leading institution for contemporary art and design, presenting work by Australian and international artists, curators, and writers. As a dynamic venue for exploring visual and material culture, it fosters critical engagement and public dialogue. Its program highlights the value of learning through exhibition-making, offering integrated projects and events that connect audiences with diverse thinkers and communities.
